HOW TO WRITE A HOWLING GOOD STORY: Six Months Straight on Bestseller Lists!

Something to howl about! It’s the six month anniversary of my book! 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 was published by Mark Lefebvre’s Stark Publishing Solutions on November 7, 2023. Over six months out and it’s still a bestseller! Bestselling writer/educator Joanna Penn told me this is amazing, which felt really good coming from someone of her caliber.

It’s been on Amazon’s Top 100 Best Sellers list in Fiction Writing books almost the entire time—it hit #13 last Sunday, and this list is filled with famous writing books by icons like Ernest Hemingway, Stephen King, and Ray Bradbury. It actually made #1 New Release in Fiction Writing books on Amazon before it released (I’ve never seen that before) and remained #1 New Release in fiction writing books for most of six weeks. It made Draft2Digital’s Top 25 Weekly Bestsellers list of all their nonfiction titles (not just creative writing books) six times since release (it made their Top 25 list last week again), and has remained a Smashwords Bestseller in Creative Writing books the entire six months.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 was also my first Kickstarter campaign, which funded at over $21,000. And in the Critters Readers’ Choice Awards, it won Best Nonfiction Book of 2023. That’s not easy to win—thousands from around the world vote in those awards and there’s always bestselling writers among the nominees.

So at this six month milestone, I’d like to thank Mark Leslie Lefebvre for all of his great advice and belief in my book, Kevin J. Wulf Pack Writers Group Success in Another Pro Anthology!

In the Wulf Pack Writers group tier accessed through my Patreon page, I hunt for respected markets the Wulf Pack Writers can submit fresh stories to, and sometimes these markets hunt us! We’ve got a great reputation built up with many editors, and they’ll contact me and ask if I can get our writers to submit to their magazine, anthology, or contest. I’m happy to oblige–my mission is to help each of our writers get professionally published and to help launch their pro writing careers.

This has worked out supremely well for us at Third Flatiron Publishing. In their last three pro-rate anthologies, the Wulf Pack Writers group have had huge success in writing stories that hit the bullseye of their anthology themes. So much so, in their AFTER THE GOLD RUSH anthology, editor Juli Rew thanked our group in her introduction for providing her with so many stories she could accept for publication. I’ve never seen such a statement in a pro anthology before, and it was quite an honor for our writing group to get such commendation. Well, friends, we’ve done it again! I set a writing challenge for our group, and these champions rose to the call.
