NYT bestselling author David Farland used to say it takes at least seven years of focused effort before a writer reaches the level where they can achieve their first sale and get their work published. He was not wrong about that—it often takes much longer.
I developed the Super Secrets of Writing to help emerging writers achieve their first respectable sale years sooner by teaching them new strategies and the fundamentals necessary to create professional stories that sell. I believed if I provided clear, accurate knowledge to guide them, emerging writers could speed up the process through smart practice, and the Super Secrets of Writing Workshop was born.
The first year of the workshop produced our first success story with a Writers of the Future Contest winner—a writer that had written no more than 30,000 words in her life, and hadn’t written since high school. Her first entry was a rejection, so she sought knowledge to improve and discovered my Super Secrets of Writing Workshop. She studied my teachings like an eagle on its prey and became a winner on her very next try.
