Isn’t the cover amazing on this issue of DreamForge Magazine? I sure think so. Jane Noel is a phenomenal graphic artist, but she really outdid herself on this cover. It might just be my favorite DreamForge cover of all time, and that’s saying something! Of course, I might be a tad biased. My novelette “Muzik Man” is published in its entirety in this issue!
Are you a subscriber? I hope so! This magazine is special, and subscribing keeps its positive speculative fiction alive. Get this issue and you’ll see why I’ve been a fan since I held Issue 1 in my hand at the Writers of the Future Volume 35 workshop in Hollywood almost seven years ago when I won! Publishers Scot and Jane Noel gave every winner that year the first print edition as a gift! Below is a photo the WotF photographer took at the workshop right when I received it!

If you agree the Issue 17 DreamForge cover is out of this world, why not give it your vote in the Critters Readers Choice Awards for Best Magazine/e-zine Cover Artwork in 2025? It only takes a moment. Here’s the link! CLICK HERE
Here’s the write up on this issue on Amazon:
In DreamForge 17, we present Wulf Moon’s novelette “Muzik Man” in its entirety, then fight demonic attacks with diplomacy, learn that good luck is never granted without a cost, and that non-transactional encounters can bring good fortune. From concrete guitars echoing through Cold War Berlin to finding your voice while running from the Spanish Inquisition, this issue will give your imagination a wonderful workout.
DreamForge is an independent, small press Magazine of positive Science Fiction and Fantasy. Our goal is to publish fiction and commentary that embody, in one way or another, these essential principles: integrity and decency, compassion and creativity, intelligence and inventiveness, the rule of law and liberty under the law, the dignity of the individual, and the power of synergy to unleash the potential of disparate individuals and communities for the betterment of all. We do not subscribe to hopelessness or futility as a vision of the future or of any setting or situation.
In all worlds and times, our tales revolve around those individuals and groups who bring meaning and value to the world, whose actions are of consequence, and whose dreams are the vanguard of things to come. Whether you call that Solarpunk, Hopepunk, or just DreamForge stories, you’ll find them here.
Time and space are indifferent to our existence, yet without our struggles to bring it meaning, the whole of the cosmos is irrelevant. Inside each mind waits a universe. We can be the creators that dream the world.
