Join the Wulf Pack: Transform Your Writing Journey

Eight years ago, I began a free year-long workshop to help emerging writers learn the skills necessary to launch professional writing careers. At the end of Year 4, so many had succeeded in winning prestigious international contests like Writers of the Future and the Mike Resnick Memorial Award, I moved the workshop to the Discord platform and established paid membership to keep enrollment down to a manageable level.

Today, we are the Wulf Pack Writers group, accessed on my Wulf Moon Patreon through the Wulf Pack Writers membership tier. In the international Critters Readers’ Choice Awards, we have won Best Writing Workshop 8 years in a row. My Super Secrets of Writing principles created online in this workshop have had 1.3 million views and have won Best Writers’ Resource 7 years in a row. My writing book HOW TO WRITE A HOWLING GOOD STORY has been a #1 bestselling writing book and stayed in the Top 100 writing books category for two years on multiple retail platforms, including Amazon.

The training and challenges I set for our writers works. Dozens of unpublished writers that started in my workshop now have world-class writing awards and sales to their names. Many have become professional writers and bestselling novelists, several now serving as editors at prestigious publications.

But the Super Secrets of Writing Annual Workshop is a special online year-long workshop with writing and submission requirements that Wulf Pack Writers can enroll in voluntarily starting October 1st of each year, closing October 15th. Most of our winners in international contests like Writers of the Future or the Story Unlikely Short Story Contest are alumni of this workshop.

Seventeen began at the start of the Year 8 annual workshop; seven stayed the course and conquered at the end. Life happens, and so do life’s trials. Enrollment creates accountability, but circumstances can test one’s resolve. It’s not always possible to stay the course, but those that do learn how to work around their trials to keep on writing. They’ll need this skill in order to become professional writers. Standing fast and being resilient is far more important than natural talent. Those who never give up, never surrender, normally win … over time.

We love roleplaying. We play the part of a wolf pack and have folders in our Discord group mirroring wolves, such as “taking down prey” for market postings, and “howlings” for noteworthy member achievements where we post GIFs of wolves howling for joy. It’s a lot of fun.

If you’d like to become part of the Wulf Pack Writers tier, now is the best time of year! This is the only time of year you can enroll in this special annual workshop within the Wulf Pack. Winners do come from here, as our members can attest. Even some this year in the workshop that weren’t able to make it to the end still accomplished their first respectable sales–one in a professional anthology that had the honor of being the opening story and the inspiration for the book’s cover!

Want to see a sample of how this year’s annual workshop ended? Here you go! Come join the fun in the Wulf Pack Writers tier. If you want the joy of being a successfully published writer, we can help you achieve your dream. And we’ll back you with a howling good Wulf Pack that has your back! Join now and get in on this workshop. It will change your destiny!

Okay, here’s my year-end post for this special annual workshop:

Year 8 Super Secrets of Writing Workshop Conclusion

The Wulf Pack alpha sat upon his throne of bone, draped in a silver wolf hide, a circlet of silver across his brow. Torches fought to stay lit as he howled a call to gather in the Pack’s audience chamber deep within these caverns.

As the Pack filed in and rested on their haunches, the Beastmaster waved a gnarled hand at the Oath Wall to his left. He pointed a claw at the special place oaths to his year-long challenge marked the wall in each member’s lifeblood. Many no longer glowed of the seventeen that had eagerly signed at the beginning of the year. It was to be expected, after all. He had not named it a challenge for nothing. It was designed to test resilience as it trained those that dared to practice the necessary skills that would lead them to their destiny.

The Beastmaster scanned the Pack members one by one as the torches in the sconces burned bright as his eyes. The smoke twined its ethereal fingers across the ceiling, but the scent filling the room was the smell of whispering firs and lightning-struck air. He smiled at the Pack. He understood the trials all here faced, but especially those that had taken on this mighty challenge. He lifted his head, baring his scarred throat as his voice rumbled across them.

“Thank you for coming, my faithful wulves. We have had a glorious year, many taking down significant prey to sustain both themselves and our beloved Pack. Many have had trials but can still hold their heads high, for they have not given up. Indeed, our combined results this year have been some of our greatest yet achieved.”

He looked to the Oath Wall and the names written there or pawed in blood. “But today is a day to honor a special cadre of elite warriors within our midst. Those that not only took up the monthly and quarterly challenges and assignments of the Year 8 Super Secrets of Writing Workshop and Challenge, they fought to the glorious end and became conquerors. Stand as I call your names, you mighty victorious. We honor you this day.”

“Doc Honour.”

“Michael Koontz.”

“Candice Lisle.”

“Devin Miller.”

“Tara McKee.”

“O.L. Drake.”

“T.F. Burke.”

As the Beastmaster called each warrior’s name out, their mark glowed in crimson brilliance on the Oath Wall as they stood. The Wulf Pack clapped in thunderous applause, filling the mountain’s caverns with a joyous cacophony.

The Beastmaster smiled, baring lethal fangs. “BEHOLD! OUR GLORIOUS CHAMPIONS.”

A mighty howling erupted, lasting long into the night.
